The London Bubble Theatre Performs at The Shard

Performing ArtsAs part of the 2024 Arts for Impact campaign, organised by the Big Give, members of the London Bubble Theatre performed a captivating 10-minute preview of their latest production, 'Influenced' on Level 9 at The Shard. The dynamic production was crafted and performed by the theatre’s talented cast, shedding light on the perils of social media for young people and explores complex social dynamics within school and home environments.
The cast performed in front of a live audience to raise funds for their Young Theatre Makers programme, and quickly surpassed their fund raising goal.
The Young Theatre programme aims to equip individuals aged 18–25, who face educational, social, and employment challenges, with performance and leadership skills. It amplifies the voices of marginalised groups, including those with lived experiences of mental illness and various hardships. Through a combination of workshops, performances, and paid work experiences, the programme seeks to enhance life opportunities for its participants.
Situated in Southwark, the London Bubble Theatre advocates for equal access to arts and culture, offering a nurturing environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds to express themselves creatively. Their initiatives prioritise social and emotional well-being and are accessible to all, irrespective of financial constraints.
Moreover, the theatre actively engages with the Southwark community, reaching out to schools and older members of the community to help increase social connections, support-maintained independence, good health and wellbeing.
In addition to their performances, the theatre hosts community events, workshops, and outreach programs aimed at fostering inclusivity and empowering individuals through the arts.
