Shard Quarter

Designed by world-renowned master architect Renzo Piano, The Shard, The News Building and Shard Place are located alongside London Bridge Station, the fourth busiest transport hub in the UK. 

The Shard, at 310m high (1,016 ft), is Europe’s first vertical city. Its 72 inhabitable floors comprise a 26-floor office complex, six world-class restaurants, artisan cafes and bars, a 19-floor five-star Shangri-La Hotel, 13 floors of exclusive residential apartments and the UK’s highest viewing gallery.

The News Building is a 17-storey building with 430,000 sq ft of office space and a large roof terrace. It is currently the international headquarters for News UK, which includes titles such as The Times and The Sun, Harper Collins publishers and New York Post.

Shard Place is the latest phase of the redevelopment at Shard Quarter. Once complete, the 27-storey building will house 176 apartments and a private roof garden for residents. The scheme also includes new public realm, extensive landscaping and multi-level retail space. 

The Retail Arcade connects London Bridge Underground Station with The Shard at Joiner Street. Brands trading include O'Sullivans Hairdressers, Three Wheels Coffee, Superdrug, ITSU and Starbucks.
