Security
The safety and security of The Shard and everyone in it is of the utmost importance to us. It is protected by state-of-the-art technology and highly trained security staff.
On 27 February 2020, an order was made in the High Court of Justice prohibiting anyone from entering in or remaining at The Shard or Shard Place without permission.
VISITING THE SHARD
The Shard has a wide range of security measures, all of which are designed to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time whilst with us. We have a dedicated team of highly trained security guards, CCTV both inside and outside of the building, screening equipment all visitors pass through, and we work very closely with the police.
You can expect to see police patrols around the building, including by armed officers, and this is nothing to be alarmed about. If you see anything suspicious, then please tell our security team and they will be happy to help.
PRIOR TO VISITING THE SHARD
If you are visiting one of our office tenants they will have booked you into our visitor management system. On arrival, visitors should be in possession of photo identification and will pass through airport style security screening.
Bags will be subject to x-ray scanning and may be subject to additional searches.

“I just wanted to highlight how impressed I was with the security staff. The security team were professional and polite. The process of getting around the building runs very smoothly. It’s not lost on me the work and effort to get that level of service in place. Great job.”Visitor to The ShardNov 2021.
